I too went through that same counting calories to lose weight while training thing... which I realized was fine for six days of the week, but really, really stupid to do the mornings of and during my long runs. And yes, the lower humidity (even here in ND) really helps. Thanks for the reminder to get to sleep early and stay hydrated - it's so easy to underestimate the importance of this!
